Adolph Kadatz Naturalization

On November 13th? 1893 Adolph Kadatz took the oath of intention to become a US citizen. He was living at 200 East 38th St . He was a tailor. He arrived in NY on April? 14, 1888. He was born July? 25, 1858. I can't read to which emperor he gave up allegiance. I am unsure of his relation.

Fanny Kadetsky Naturalization

From the National Archives in NY:
Fannie Kadetsky formerly Frida Goldstein formerly Frid Krotosynsky arrived at the port of Boston MA on July 19, 1906 on the SS Saxonia.
Fanny Kadetsky of 1219 45th Brooklyn NY was born in 1881 in Beirsa, Poland. Her second marriage was to Jak Kadetsky on January 9, 1944 at Brooklyn NY. He was born in Poland in 1882 and entered Ny in 1905. He lives at the same address and was naturalized on October 1, 1923 in NY.. All her children were from her first marriage and were born in LAwrence MA but reside in NY: Essie (F b.9/2/1904 in Plotz, Poland) Jack (M b.6/1908), Betty (F b.3/15/1918), Rose (F b.2/5/1913).Signed by Esther Singer (358 S. 2nd St. Brooklyn NY) and Rose Eisenberg (1219 45th St. Brooklyn NY same address as Fannie). Citizenship granted June 20, 1944.

KADETSKY Lookalikes and Variations

We have found lots of variations in the records: CADETSKY, KADET, KODETSKY, KADESKI (if the ending is in "a" the origna came from a woman - as in Poland a female would be known as KADESKA.

Several Kadetskies have changed their name even to KAY.  So we are also pursuing that line.

Over the years I have been in touch with people who for some reason were connected with certain surnames. I will slowly copy some of the correspondence here in case anything rings a bell with anyone...

"All I have for you about the KADETSKY name is that a man who may have been named Ben Kadetsky married a woman whose last name was SOBEL. They had at least one child possibly named Sam Kadetsky. Ben Kadetsky would have been born about 1840. I have no documentation. This information was given to me by an in-law of mine related to the Sobels. Family tradition says the Sobels came from Poland. I have no information about anyone in Boston. The Sobels I know of were New Yorkers. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Mystery wedding picture IDENTIFIED!

Among lots of other wedding and Bar/Bat Mitzvah pictures, that my father had, there is this one, and we have not been able to discover who the happy couple are. If you can identify them, please let us know. I know who they are NOT.... as other pictures have slowly been"claimed" by the descendents of the people pictured, but this one is still unidentified!

Linda Kadetsky Levine identified his couple for us:  her grandparents Isaac Kadetsky and his bride Annie Rich AKA Bloom who married on February 1, 1901.

The fact that my father had this picture, indicates to me that the Kadetksy and Hymoff families were in contact at least until then, probably until Adeline (Isaac's aunt and my great grandmother) died in 1918.
