Sarah Wolfe Death Record records her parents Jacob Reditzky and Hannah Kalma

Sarah Wolfe, the wife of Solomon Wolfe, died Jan 2, 1920. The transcription of her death record indicates that Jacob Reditzky (K and R in script look very similar) and Hannah Kalma. She was buried in Mt Zion Cemetery. You can see her headstone here.

Breina Kadecky connects Wolfe Family to Kadetskys from Sierpc!

Breina Kadecky arrived at Ellis Island from Sierpc on June 4, 1900. (Line 27 on the manifest below.) She went to her brother-in-law's house, illegible first name, last name Wolf 246 Second Street, in NY. She was 21 at the time. See line 10 of the Kadetsky Family Ellis Island excel file. (Sarah Kadetzky Wolfe fits line 5 on the Kadetsky Manifest list, also of Sierpc. I have designated that line of Kadetsky as F on the excel spreadsheet.)

Four days later....

The 1900 US Census (bottom of the first page and the top of the next census record) records that Solomon (born 1/1865) and Sarah (born 6/1869) had immigrated in 1888 and were married for 12 years. they lived at 246 Second Street. Solomon was a window cleaner. Sarah had given birth to 5 children, who were all living; Rachel (10/1889), Isadore (7/1891), Alexander (10/1894), Martha (10/1896), and Abraham (11/1899). Interestingly they had a boarder, Bertha Kadetzky (11/1879), who had immigrated in 1900. The census was taken on June 8, 1900, so she had just arrived. In four days her name was Americanized from Breina to Bertha!

Kadetsky-Wolfe family in the 1910 US Census gets interesting....

I found the Wolfe family in the 1910 US Census and there were a few Kadetsky surprises. Here are the people living in their household in 1910;

Isadore Wolfe Son M 18 New York

Solomon was a street sweeper. They immigrated in 1888. (Which would mean that this is not the Solomon Wolf who witnessed Sussman Kadetsky's naturalization in 1882.) Sarah and Solomon were married for 22 years. Sarah had delivered 8 children, 7 of whom were living. Bertha was born in 1905 and is not on this census. It is possible that Rose L. is Lily for whom there is a birth record.

Here's the surprise. Living with them at the time was Abraham Kaletzky a 38 yo (1872) widower and his 16 yo (1894) son Isaac. Abraham was a tailor. Abraham's immigration year is documented as 1899 and Isaac arrived in 1901.

Who is Sarah Kadetsky Wolf born about 1874?

I found the following records for Sarah Kadetsky Wolf born about 1874. I have never heard of her or a Wolf family. She appears to have been born around 1874. She was married to Solomon Wolf and had the following children; Rose, Lily, Benjamin, and Bertha. Rose’s marriage doc has her parents as Sadie Kadetsky and Solomon Wolfe. Benjamin is buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Interestingly a Solomon Wolf was a witness for Sussman Kadetsky’s naturalization on 10/21/1882.
