Szmul Kadecki (1825-1853) death certificate links to Bluma Roza Kadecki (1832-1910) and Issac Kadetsky (1851-1891)!

Jenni Hymoff Koeppel uncovered the death Poliosh death record for Szmul Kadecki. A Genner provided the following vital information extract: This is the DEATH record of Szmuel KADECKI. He died on January 25, 1853 at 5 a.m., aged 28(?), residing in Bieżuń, son of Abram Szlamowicz and Nycha. He left a widow, Blima Rojza, née GARBEL, and a son, Azryel(? possibly Israel or Azriel), aged 2. This adds more evidence to the hypotheisis that Isaac Kadetsky is the son of Szmul mentioned in this record. See my previous post Abraham Kadetsky (1885-1963) son of Isac Kadetsky Yahrzeit Plaque

Abraham Kadetsky (1885-1963) son of Isac Kadetsky Yahrzeit Plaque

Abraham Kadetsky's memorial plaque from Congregation Beth Shalom of the Bule Hills, Milton MA has been indexed and is listed on the Jewishgen Memorial Plaque database.  The following information is extracted: Avraham ben Yeshiah Ezrial, died on the 23 of Shevat 5723 (2/19/1963). Unfortunately
the original website with pictures of the plaque is no longer operating.

Screenshot of the Jewishgen index

His brother, Samuel Kadets' (11/1/1879-2/4/1955), yahrzeit plaque in Beth Israel of Quincy, MA, lists his name as Shmuel ben Azriel Yeshaya, 12 of Shevat 5715. https://web.mit.edu/justom/Public/Erica/QuincyDisplay-to-press.pdf

Samuel and Abraham's parents were Isac Kadetsky (7/14/1854-7/11/1891) and Dora Frye (4/1861-?). These plaques show that Isac's Hebrew name was Yeshaya Azriel. Isac's cousin, Israel (Shaya Azriel) Kadetsky (my gggf) shared the same name. Based on Jewish naming custom, they were likely named after the same family member, potentially their grandmother, Nuchy Eliaszowicz's father, Azriel

Here are the results for the Kadtesky Yahrzeit plaue search: https://www.jewishgen.org/databases/jgdetail_2.php?df=M_MA&georegion=01memorial&srch1=kadetsky&srch1v=S&srch1t=Q&srchbool=AND&dates=all&newwindow=0&recstart=0&recjump=0&HttpVerb=Post One can find more family yahzriet plauqes by searching for the name Kadets/z and Kadet.

Isaac Kadetsky's (1854-1891) hebrew name was Azriel Yeshaya!

Google has lead me to an unexpected find. I google Sam Kadets and found this link http://web.mit.edu/justom/Public/Erica/QuincyDisplay-to-press.pdf
In the tiny print about the now closed Beth Israel Synagogue in Quincy Massachusetts is a list of yahrzeits that were memorialized on plaques in the Beth Israel sanctuary, including Sam and Jennie Kadets, Isaac (1854-1891) and Dora Kadetsky' oldest son. Amazingly their death info has been a mystery to me. But this gets a little crazy since this records that Samuel Kadets's hebrew name was Shmuel the son of Azriel Yeshaya. Meaning that Isaac Kadetsky's hebrew name was Azriel Yeshaya. This adds further evidence that Isaac Kadetsky (1854-1891) is in fact the son of Szmul Kadecki from Biezun who died before his only child was born in 1853. Szmul's brother, was Eliasz Kadecki. Eliasz Kadecki's first born son was Shaya Aziel Kadecki, my grandpa Charlie's grandfather. My grandfather's hebrew name was also Shaya Aziel!

Isaac Kadetsky (1851-1891) and Charles Saul Kadetsky; A case of multiple aliases?

I have a hypothesis to explain the 2 Charles Saul Kadetskys in the same family belonging headed by Dora Kadetsky nee Frye. Isaac Kadetsky was married to Dora Frye. Dora's youngest Kadetsky son, Charles Saul Kadetsky was born October 1891, 3 months after his father Isaac had died. Later records from this family record the father's name as Charles Saul Kadetsky as opposed to Isaac Kadetsky. In fact the records belonging to the son Charles Saul Kadetsky (b. 1891) indicate that his father was also named Charles Saul Kadetsky. It would make sense for him to have been named after his deceased father. So my hypothesis is that the first Charles Saul Kadetsky is also known as Isaac Kadetsky and that his youngest son who was born after he died was named after him with the name Charles Saul Kadetsky.
Dora Frye had the following Kadetsky children; Samuel, Edward, Jacob, Abraham, Benjamin and Soll Charles. On the 1880 US Census she was living in NY with husband Isac Kadezky and son Samuel. At some point they moved to Boston. By the 1900 Census she had remarried to David Gans living in Boston. Isac Kadetsky’s death certificate indicates that he died July 1891.
Edward, Abraham and Charles all list their father as Saul C. on the marriage registries as found on familysearch.org. Samuel and Benjamin list their father as Charles S. On Jacob Kadetsky's 1907 marriage registration he lists his father as Isaac Kadetsky. All the marriage certificates list Dora Frye as the mother.
Abraham and Benjamin’s birth records list their parents as Isaac and Dora Kadetsky.
In 1897, Dora remarried after Isaac death to David Gans. On that marriage registry she lists her parents as Isaac and Bessie Frye. So Dora Isaacs is a patronymic form her last name.
Abraham Kadetsky's birth record (Boston, 2/28/1885) on familysearch.com lists his parents as Isaac and Dora Kadetsky. So here we have Abraham's birth record listing his dad as Isaac and his marriage record in 1917 listing his father as Saul C.
The 1900 US Census shows Dora remarried to David Gans, with the following Kadetsky children which all match the info for the children that Dora had with Isaac: Samuel, Edward, Jacob, Abraham, Benjamin and Soll C.
Assuming this is all the same family, which seems very likely, earlier records have Isaac Kadetsky documented as the father while later records, specifically the marriages of the sons starting 15 years after Isaac’s death lists their father as Charles Saul or Saul Charles, which is a more Americanized name than Isaac. Could Isaac Kadetsky and Charles Saul be the same person? I think they are. Finally it is evident that Charles Saul b.1891 was likely named after his deceased father and therefore he and his father shared the same name.

Samuel Kadetsky weds Jennie Peretsky on Feb 6, 1906

Ths Samuel is almost certainly the son of Isaac 1871 and Dora Frye.    The best man was probably his brother.
